He works where enterprise meets regeneration, building businesses that put farmers, women and youth at the centre of both ownership and returns.
Mr. B. Limanuksung Longkumer is Chairman of GAMSME’s National Council on Tribal Enterprise, Agroforestry and Northeast MSME Development. An entrepreneur and community leader from Mokokchung, Nagaland, he is Managing Director of Ngaza Agro and Forestry and Ngaza Buildcon, building agri-based enterprises that regenerate land and strengthen tribal livelihoods across Northeast India. At GAMSME he leads efforts to strengthen tribal and rural MSMEs, agroforestry-based livelihoods, rural value chains and market linkages for products from the Northeast.
A wide and grounded career
A graduate of Calcutta University with a Master’s in Computer Application from Asset International, Bangalore, Mr. Longkumer brings over two decades of experience across e-commerce, telecom infrastructure, BPO operations and rural development. Along the way he has pioneered and supported several enterprise initiatives, weaving together business development, community mobilisation and grassroots institution-building. He has held key roles in social and enterprise development organisations, including the Confederation of Indian Tribal Entrepreneurs and YouthNet Nagaland, reflecting a steady commitment to tribal entrepreneurship, youth development, farmer empowerment and inclusive growth.
Regenerating the Northeast’s agri ecosystem
Through Ngaza Agro and Forestry, his vision is to transform the region’s agri ecosystem with high-tech nurseries, agroforestry, organic seed production, value-added processing and climate-resilient livelihood models. Ngaza works closely with indigenous communities, farmer groups and institutional partners to create eco-friendly, income-generating opportunities while restoring soil, forests and biodiversity. The design choice that defines it is ownership: farmers, women and youth sit at the centre of decision-making and shared financial returns, not at the edges.
At GAMSME
As National Chairman for Tribal Enterprise, Agroforestry and Northeast MSME Development, Mr. Longkumer leads GAMSME’s efforts to strengthen tribal and rural MSMEs across Northeast India. His focus spans community-owned enterprises, agroforestry-based livelihoods, rural value chains, food processing, youth and women-led entrepreneurship, and market linkages for products from the Northeast. He guides the association’s engagement with entrepreneurs, FPOs, farmer groups, tribal enterprises, government institutions, financial agencies and development partners, advancing GAMSME’s mission of resilient, inclusive and locally rooted MSME ecosystems that connect traditional knowledge with modern enterprise.
