From Water to Market
The North East Enterprise and Resource Network. Led by GAMSME, supported by SLRD and Living Roots Network. The region imports a large share of the fish it eats, and imported fish has repeatedly failed on formalin and heavy metals. The gap is market organisation, not water.
Demand led market access
The same buyer first sequence, clinics and Sangam finale, applied to fish.
Training and skill programmes
One to three day certified programmes, in cluster and in the local language.
Quality and compliance
A four rung ladder from farm management audit to third party certification, with lab testing and traceability.
Enterprise formation
Fingerling banks, ice and cold chain, live haul, local feed, drying and smoking, cages and ornamentals.
Geography Cycle 1 Meghalaya, Assam and Nagaland. Cycle 2 Tripura and Manipur. Cycle 3 Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram
Convergence sought with PMMSY, PM-MKSSY, NFDB, MPEDA, JICA ASAPALI, ADB SWIFT and APART. State pitches for Meghalaya and Assam, and a Kamrup and Goalpara district plan, are in circulation.
