Tourism reaches the places GAMSME already works in, but very little of the money stays there. Hosts, guides, cooks and drivers are treated as informal labour rather than as businesses. Paryatan Udyam Setu applies the same demand first method to the visitor economy.

Geography First destination cluster still to be selected
The sector council is in place under GAMSME and the first destination cluster is to be selected. Convergence to be sought with the Ministry of Tourism, Swadesh Darshan, DoNER and state tourism departments.
