A delegation from the Global Association of MSMEs (GAMSME), led by Shri Abhijit Sharma, Founder & Chairman, Global MSME’s, recently called on Dr. Ilayaraja T. (IAS), Secretary, Tourism, and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Board.
The meeting focused on exploring stronger linkages between tourism, hospitality and MSME development in Madhya Pradesh. Shri Abhijit Sharma was accompanied by Shri Shyamendra Singh, Chairman, National Council on Eco-Tourism & Hospitality, whose sectoral experience added valuable perspective to the discussion.
Tourism and hospitality are significant drivers of small enterprise growth and local employment, creating opportunities for homestays, guides, transport services, artisans, food businesses and other community-based enterprises.
With its rich cultural heritage, diverse tourism destinations and natural landscapes, Madhya Pradesh offers considerable potential for tourism-led MSME growth and local entrepreneurship.
During the interaction, GAMSME highlighted its belief that when tourism, hospitality and enterprise development move together, they can create wider opportunities for businesses, communities and local economies.
